I visited Pakistan in 1998 and had the chance to travel to the North-West Frontier Province and also to Peshawar.
Between Chitral and Peshawar there are 3 little valleys where the peaceful Kalash tribes live.
I stayed a few days in the Bhumburet valley.
Kalash women wear particular adornment which are very colourful and heavy. They wear a lot of bead necklaces around their necks.
It is very easy as Western foreigner to approach the Kalash. They don’t mind when we take pictures because usually there are not many foreigners coming to them. Those who come are usually respectful.
